A Flame Made Eternal

Written by Celeynah and Indoril Sirian

Part I: Indoril Sirian

As the golden sun slowly begun its eternal journey, settling beyond the far away horizon, the soothing night sky soon feel upon the city of Soliath as a dark, shrouding blanket. The blazing warmth that followed to the daily sun was replaced by a restful and calm night breeze. Indoril stood by the Great Fountain, his gloved hands gently clutching the steel bar encircling the clear pool of water. Deep in thought his eyes gazed distantly into the pond and the many glittering coins resting upon the tranquil bottom.

“Anything wrong Indy?” Celeynah’s sweet voice broke the serene silence surrounding the beautiful fountain and as she approached him, he turned, a loving smile adorning his lips.

“A beautiful night, is it not my love?” With a careful step forward he embraced her, their lips meeting in a long and passionate kiss.

“You tell me to meet you by the fountain at sundown, not telling why. Now you’ve kept me guessing all day dear, isn’t it time you told me what’s going on?” She smiled gently, her soft hand caressing his cheek as she spoke.

“My heart has belonged to you ever since that fateful day in Seladania so long ago Cee. It has belonged to you in Daoine Sidhe and it belongs to you now, in Draconia. I love you, and I always shall, until the end of me” Notably nervous the knight seemingly struggled to keep calm, his voice but a mere whisper as he gazed deeply into her glimmering emerald eyes.

“Yes, my love? I love you too”Her eyes narrowed, curious to what he meant, why he had requested them to meet here at this time a day.

“Well, you see, there something that has been on my mind ever since I arrived here. Something I have been wanting to tell you, to ask you, yet have been afraid to do so.” With his eyes still locked with Celeynah’s his hands tenderly moved towards hers, entangling as he slowly dropped to one knee.

“Cee, I can think of no other to share my life with, no other to love in my time upon this earth. Celeynah, will you be…my wife?” He gently squeezed her hands, holding his breath in anticipation of what she would respond, what answer she would give him to the question that so long had occupied his mind.

Part II: Celeynah

Celeynah gazed down at her Indy with an expression of elated surprise. “Oh Indy…” Her eyes filled with tears, her voice lost.

He looked so very handsome, kneeling in front of her, holding her hands in his. His expression was expectant.

Her mind flashed back over the months since she had met Indy. They had spent an abundance of time apart and her heart ached each and every time that she was forced to say goodbye to him. How she had wished for the day when she and her beloved would be together forever…and now it had arrived! He was asking her to marry him! She would become Celeynah Sirian, wife of Sir Indoril of Draconia. It was then that she realised that she was keeping Indy in unnecessary suspense.

She gently pulled him back to standing because she wanted to be face to face when she answered him. Gazing deeply into his eyes, she rested her arms upon his and smiled up at him. The adoration in his expression warmed her heart. “I will always love you, my dearest Indy.” Pause. “When we are apart, I feel as though a part of me is missing…and I cannot bear to be apart from you a minute more.” Another pause. “Sir Indoril Sirian…yes, I want to share the rest of my life with you. YES! I want to be your wife!”

Their blissful laughter travelled throughout the streets of Nova Q'lynnesti as they embraced tightly for what seemed like ages. Settling onto a bench near a fountain, the newly engaged couple looked up into the illuminated sky and reminisced about all the nights they’d spent admiring the stars, knowing that all their wishes had finally come true.

Cal'Oniath, Druidic Abbey

Cal'Oniath

Amidst the forests of Nova Q'lynnesti, Cal'Oniath is an important trading post for the northern duchies and the home of several members of the Druidic Order. It was here that the Prophet, Onaeus Lampetides, once lived and held seminars.
