The values of Imperial Draconia have long stood strong in the fields of battle, and now in the world of Azeroth we endeavor to hold the name of the Empire high, and to uphold the highest level of conduct possible. To that end the following Code of Conduct shall govern all guild members’ activities in the World of Warcraft.
I. Core Values
The core values of Draconia have long stood for legitimate game play and teamwork. As members of The Empire it is our responsibility to make sure that the name of our guild stands strong, and untarnished. The following areas are therefore especially important to keep in mind while rallying under the banner of Draconia. a. Integrity Integrity is defined as “Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code.” Having said this, members of Draconia are to hold both the laws of the Empire and this Code of Conduct highly as a way to bolster both their own integrity and that of the guild in general. b. Teamwork Our guild exists to work as a team, we always strive to help each other whenever possible. All one needs to do is ask for assistance and the guild will be there to help. c. Responsibility Each and every guild member is responsible for their own actions. Your reputation carries significant weight in the world of an MMO, and this is not something to be overlooked, for better or worse. d. Respect Members of our guild strive to respect each other and their fellow players. Treat others with respect and they should do the same for you. e. Legitimacy The policy of Draconia has always been one of Legitimate gameplay, under no circumstances is cheating, hacking, botting, purchasing gold or game items with real world money, or any other activity which violates the policies set forth by Blizzard tolerable.
II. Chat Conduct
a. General Chat Functionality
In any of the public chat channels within the World of Warcraft our members are expected to keep in mind certain things. First, spamming of any sort is inappropriate as well as rude, under no circumstances should any member of Draconia spam any chat or communication medium within WoW. Additionally, appropriate language should always be observed. 1337 speak, speaking in all caps, the use of excessive expletives, or otherwise generally offensive speech should be avoided. Utilizing such behavior in the game not only demeans you, but the guild as well.
b. Guild Chat
Speech in the guild chat should be reserved for guild business first, and general conversation second. If there is a guild activity taking precedence in the guild channel feel free to use the channel Dragonspire in game.
III. Party Conduct
Certain activities in the World of Warcraft depend upon the use of parties or raid groups to complete. Your conduct in a party reflects directly back upon the guild, if you treat others with respect and honor they will remember the name of the empire in the future and look to us again for such activities. Take care not to carelessly endanger the party in dangerous areas or to break any of the rules set forth by the party at the beginning of an adventure.
IV. Looting
In general the best way to approach looting in WoW is to only roll on items which your current character is able to use. That being said, its technically true that all classes can use cloth items, however precedence should be giving to the casting classes which are restricted to these items alone for armor. These rules may be waved if the party decides differently during the course of their adventure, but in general this is the rule across the server.
V. General Game Play
a. Harassment
As a matter of principal harassment of any sort is inappropriate conduct. If you believe you are being harassed in game, we urge you to report the act to a GM by opening a ticket in game. Under no circumstances should any member of Draconia be the one harassing anyone in WoW.
b. Griefing
Griefing is defined as “the act of intentionally setting out to discomfort other players.” In WoW, activites such as uneven odds (meaning anything more than one on one), attacking players of the opposite factions who are roughly more than ten levels below your level, and corpse camping, can be considered griefing. Keep in mind that these activities are only examples, and are not the only activities which can be considered greifing. In the end, any griefing is inappropriate and unacceptable to participate in as a member of Draconia.
